Economic Calendar: Week of July 1st
This week should be a bit crazy or at minimum confusing for the U.S. – based traders. U.S. markets have an early closing on Wednesday July 3rd and closed on July 4th for a national holiday and should contribute to lower volume on each end of the holiday. Traders have historically headed for the beach when a Friday is sandwiched after a closed market day and weekend. This week may be different. The recent volatility may keep traders at work and if that doesn’t, the parade of economic reports are squeezed into a 4-day calendar. A disappointment to all spouses, kids (and some traders) seeking a long holiday weekend, the big jobs report comes on Friday as normal. Over the pond, ECB economic data arrives on the 4th which should give reason to keep an eye on the abbreviated futures markets during their abbreviated schedule listed below.
Wednesday, July 3:
CME Globex EQUITY INDEX close at 12:15 pm.
After Hours: CME Globex EQUITY INDEX regular open.
Thursday, July 4:
CME Globex EQUITY INDEX close at 10:30 am.
CME Globex EQUITY INDEX trading resumes at 5:00 pm for trade date July 5.
Friday, July 5:
Regular close for all products
